Speech
and Language Therapy focuses on the development
of receptive and expressive communication,
oral-motor function, speech intelligibility,
articulation, and early feeding and swallowing
skills. As pediatric Speech-Language Pathologists,
we work towards helping children to understand
language, develop broader vocabulary, and
increase the complexity of language they
are able to use. We also work on increasing
strength and control of the muscles of the
mouth for improved speech production and
feeding skills.
